Return to Freedom Sponsor a Horse Program

You can establish a personal connection with a horse, herd or burro at Return to Freedom through our Sponsor a Horse program. Your support will help us to provide feed and care for the animal that you sponsor. With the daily financial burden of caring for some 200 wild horses and burro, Return to Freedom desperately needs your help!

Becoming a sponsor just takes a few minutes. You can sponsor a horse online using paypal, or print out the Sponsorship Pledge Form and mail it in with your contribution. Once you’ve completed 6 months of sponsorship, you will receive a certificate with a photo and description of your horse, burro or herd. You can pre-pay for 6 months or the entire year to receive your certificate right away.

Remember, sponsorships make meaningful gifts for horse lovers on any special occasion. You can sponsor a horse in the name of someone dear to you. That person will receive a card notifying them of your gift right away, and the certificate will be sent when 6 months of sponsorship have been completed. All contributions go directly to the care of the animals and because we are a 501c3 organization, your contribution is tax deductible.

Basic Sponsorship

Just $45.00 a month pays for the feed of one horse or burro. We have a number of horses that are waiting for sponsors. Please consider becoming a sponsor today!

Sponsor a Herd Family

When wild horses are rounded up and removed from public lands, family bands are ripped apart and scattered. Mothers and foals often get separated, and stallions lose their herds. This is incredibly traumatic and stressful for creatures that live in herds, with tightly bonded family bands and social structures. Return to Freedom is unique in that, whenever possible, we rescue horses with their natural herd family intact.

We have a number of herd families residing with us. Though many of our herds total more than 5 horses, we make herd sponsorship programs available for $225 per month to those who believe, as we do, that wild horses deserve to remain within their bonded groups.

Sponsor a Horse in Our Preservation Program

We also have a number of horses residing at the Sanctuary that have been proven, through DNA testing, to be genetically rare breeds. To preserve and protect their pure blood lines, we control the breeding of the horses in our Preservation Program to assure that these unique animals are not at risk of disappearing forever.
In order to continue this valuable work, we need your help. Please consider becoming a sponsor for a horse in our Preservation Program and pledge your support of $125 per month, or $1,500 for the year.
