Youth Volunteer
Program
Return to Freedom welcomes young people who want to lend a hand to help
the horses at the wild horse sanctuary. We offer a variety of ways that
kids, classrooms, or youth organizations can get involved in the day to
day tasks at the ranch. You or you groups can be part of a very important
effort to preserve America’s wild horses!
Come for a Volunteer Work Weekend and go for a special hike into our
hills to see the wild horses, then camp out with your family or group
at the wild horse sanctuary. Check our calendar
to view upcoming youth volunteer opportunities, and Volunteer Work Weekends!
Hands-On Projects
There’s always something to do at the American Wild Horse Sanctuary.
So come and bring your enthusiasm and team spirit! Whether you’re
here for a day or a weekend, you can help us with projects such as:
- Feeding horses
- Cleaning up pastures and barn areas
- Painting
- Landscaping and gardening
- Equine care
- Maintaining our Visitor Center
- Stream bank & habitat restoration
Come as a Group
Are you looking for a meaningful project that your class or organization
can work on together? Volunteer work days and weekends at the wild horse
sanctuary are a wonderful way to participate as a team, while helping
to preserve our living history – the American wild horse!
