Noble and Kabir's Herd

Noble and Kabir's Herd

This herd, that arrived from the Sheldon National Refuge, is truly unique. Typically, there is only one stallion in a herd. However, this herd is clearly led by two stallions, Noble and Kabir. Instead of viewing each other as adversaries, the stallions work together and care for the entire group as one family unit.

Shortly after they arrived, one of the mares, Angie, had a baby on Valentine's Day. We call him Valentino. Although the herd had been at the ranch only three months, they allowed Neda close enough to video tape the entire birth process. Soon after he was born, Valentino stood up and whinnied. In response, cries of welcome rang out from every horse on the ranch.
